Teaching Homeschool Christian Apologetics with Science
Giving your kids a solid foundation in homeschool Christian apologetics will equip them to counter non-Biblical teaching while standing strong in their faith.
There are many reasons that parents may choose to homeschool their children. Some parents homeschool because they believe they can give their kids a better education at home, or because they feel their kids are safer at home than in public schools. Others may homeschool because it is more affordable than sending their children to private school.
For Christian parents, though, there is a deeper reason. Yes, of course we want our kids to have the best education possible. But we also want to give them a strong spiritual foundation that they can build on throughout their lives.
There are a variety of ways that we can nurture our children spiritually. Some possible ways are:
- Reading the Bible and praying together daily
- Encouraging Scripture memorization
- Using a high-quality Bible curriculum
- Modeling personal Bible study
- Teaching hymns
- Incorporating Christian apologetics

What is Christian Apologetics?
Apologetics is something that is often overlooked as a way to help our kids build a solid foundation. But what exactly does apologetics mean?
In a nutshell, Christian apologetics is a systematic, educated defense of our Christian faith and beliefs.
I have to admit that I don’t have enough knowledge to teach apologetics to my kids on my own. But thankfully, Master Books has me covered!
Teaching Homeschool Christian Apologetics with Science
I love that Master Books courses are not just compatible with Christian beliefs, but that they are actually built Biblical truth. Every one of their science courses includes apologetics to help students understand and defend what they believe.
Students will learn how science actually aligns with the Bible and doesn’t contradict it. They will learn to think critically and apply a Biblical worldview to topics like Creation, evolution, carbon dating, and Noah’s ark and the Flood.
Master Books Cultural Issues Vol. 1: Creation/Evolution and the Bible is a high school curriculum that answers some of the most common questions about science and the Bible. The course texts are two of The New Answers Books from Answers in Genesis.
If you have questions like . . .
- How old is the earth?
- Does the fossil record favor long ages?
- Are mutations actually a form of evolution?
- Were there dinosaurs on Noah’s ark?
- How could a world-wide flood happen?
- Where does the Ice Age fit?
. . . these books have the answers!
