  • printable sheet music
  • listening links
  • vocabulary words taken from the hymn
  • review questions to gauge comprehension
  • copywork and notebooking pages in 4 styles
  • related Scripture to memorize and copy

Covers six of the best-loved hymns of all time:

  1. What a Friend We Have in Jesus
  2. The Old Rugged Cross
  3. It Is Well with My Soul
  4. Take My Life and Let It Be
  5. Amazing Grace
  6. Blessed Assurance

This year I was looking forward to introducing my children to hymns at BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) however, they cut that portion from the program. I was disappointed and wasn’t sure what I was going to do as I still wanted to teach these timeless hymns that I grew up on to my children. I am so thankful to have found Hymn Study for Homeschoolers. Judy has compiled an invaluable resource in Hymn Study for Homeschoolers. HSFH provides you with history, lyrics, review questions and links to Youtube videos for the hymn. All in one place! I pull the study up on my iPad and can easily access everything I need. I am already looking forward to future volumes!

I LOVE the Timeless Hymns for All Ages Volume I. While I did receive it free to review, I would not say I love it if I didn’t mean it! Not only does it use KJV scripture, which is incredibly important to me and I know will be to many other Bible believers, but the layout is organized beautifully. It’s easy to figure out how to find things. Judy has links to videos of the music, printable sheet music is included, lyrics in text and then printables for copywork and scripture memory- all in addition to the story about the song writer and vocabulary.

Timeless Hymns For All Ages (Vol. 1) is an excellent resource for homeschoolers looking for a hymn study. The study includes some of the most popular hymns – and a couple of my all-time favourites. I love that the historical information is brief enough to inform but not overwhelm with too many facts. This is particularly helpful with three kids under seven (and not-very-long attention spans!). The inclusion of links to listen to the hymns is helpful, and I like the suggested review questions and learning activities. My eldest daughter, who is just beginning to learn cursive, is excited to start working on the copywriting pages. The hymn study is simple to use and requires very little preparation. We love it!
