Here’s another fun paper craft for kids! This mother and baby bird would make a great Mother’s Day craft, but you could also make it at any time of the year.
If you’d like to use these paper birds to make a Mother’s Day card, simply glue the birds to the front of a blank white card. Add as many baby birds as needed to represent each of the children in the family.
No matter how you decide to use this papercraft, you’ll enjoy sharing some craft time with your kids.

What You’ll Need to Make a Bird Paper Craft
- Colored craft papers: yellow, orange, pink, and white
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Liquid craft glue
- Black Sharpie or gel pen
- Printable bird template
How to Make a Bird Paper Craft
Step 1
Use the following colors for the bird craft pieces:
- Orange – beak and feet
- White – bird’s underside
- Pink – cheek blush
- Yellow – all other pieces
Trace the template patterns on the selected craft papers and cut them out neatly.

Step 2
Follow each step for both the mother bird and the baby bird.
Using liquid craft glue, attach the hair cutout on the top side of the bird’s head. Attach the lens-shaped cutout to the bottom-front part of the bird’s body.

Step 3
Attach the beak cutout to the front side of the bird’s head; add the blush cutout on the cheek.

Step 4
Attach the leg cutouts on the bottom side of the bird’s body, and attach the wing cutout on the body below the bird’s head.

Step 5
Use a black Sharpie or gel pen to draw the bird’s eye.
