Easy Alligator Paper Craft for Kids

Looking for an easy craft for kids? This alligator paper craft is a simple, low-prep project that kids will love!

My youngest daughter loves to create. If she has paper, scissors, glue, and markers, she is content.

If your child enjoys arts and crafts as much as my daughter does, you’ll want to try this super cute alligator paper craft. It’s the perfect project to make before (or after) a family field trip to the zoo.

This craft would also be fun to do along with an introduction to the letter A, using an “A is for alligator” theme.

What You’ll Need to Make an Alligator Paper Craft

How to Make an Alligator Paper Craft

Step 1

Use the following colors for the sloth paper craft pieces:

  • Light green – belly
  • Medium green – legs and body
  • Dark green – scales
  • Pink – blush spot

Trace the template patterns on the selected craft papers and cut them out neatly.

Cut out the eyes directly from the template.

Step 2

Using liquid craft glue or a glue stick, attach the scale borders on top side of the tail and the back side of the alligator’s body.

Step 3

Attach the back legs (L-shaped pieces) at the bottom edge of the alligator’s body. Add the front legs on each side of the body.

Step 4

Attach the belly cutout on the bottom edge of the alligator’s body.

Step 5

Attach the eyes and blush spot to the alligator’s head.

Use a black Sharpie or gel pen to draw the nose and the mouth of the alligator. Cut out tiny triangle shapes from white paper and attach them along the mouth line.
