Your kids will LOVE these vintage series books from Aunt Claire Presents!

As a child I was a voracious reader. I will always be grateful that my parents encouraged my love of reading.

My mom made dozens of trips to the local library to keep me in books. My dad bought me books for Christmas, always stretching my abilities with books that were just slightly above my reading level.

I spent hundreds of enjoyable hours reading as a child, and I’m still reaping the benefits today.

Now I want to pass that love of reading on to my own children. However, it can be a challenge to find quality reading material that aligns with our family’s “old-fashioned” values.

I’ve found that vintage series books are an excellent alternative to modern children’s books. These wholesome series books are filled with excitement and adventure—my kids genuinely love them!

I received two free books and was compensated for my time. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I was not required to post a positive review.

Aunt Claire Presents: Vintage Series Books for Kids

Aunt Claire Presents, published by Laboratory Books, is a wonderful collection of vintage books for kids. These are the same stories that children would have read and enjoyed a century ago.

Around 1910, American publishers began publishing dozens of inexpensive series books for kids. These early series paved the way for the better-known series of the 1930s and 1940s—Nancy Drew, Trixie Belden, and Cherry Ames, for example.

Aunt Claire Presents is bringing back these vintage series books for today’s children to enjoy! Books are selected for republishing based on their fun appeal and historical interest. Perfect for homeschool reading!

Using Vintage Series Books in Your Homeschool

My favorite way to homeschool with vintage books is to have them available for independent reading. Although they could also be read aloud, my third-grader prefers to read them on his own. And that’s fine with me!

The books also provide glimpses into what American life was like in the early 1900s. I love the idea of reading these books alongside some great biographies and historical fiction related to the same time period!

If you’d like more ideas for homeschooling with Aunt Claire’s collection of books, there are writing prompts, discussion topics, and other resources available on the website.
