No-Oven Baked Potatoes

Welcome to another day of Five-Star Slow Cooker Recipes, a ten-day series featuring slow cooker recipes that are simple enough for weeknight meals but delicious enough to serve company!

If your family loves baked potatoes as much as mine does, you really need to give these No-Oven Baked Potatoes a try! No foil, no fuss. Just scrub the potatoes and pop them into the slow cooker. And they’re delicious, too!

No-Oven Baked Potatoes {Slow Cooker Recipe}


  • Potatoes your choice


  • Scrub potatoes thoroughly. Place in slow cooker.
  • Cover and cook on high for 4-5 hours OR cook on low for 8-10 hours.
  • Note: Cooking time may need to be adjusted based on how full your slow cooker is filled. If the crock is more than 2/3 full, plan for a longer cooking time; if less than half full, potatoes may be done sooner.

  1. I’ve done “baked” potatoes in the slow cooker before, but wrapped mine in tin foil. I thought they were horrible – – steamed and gummy. Your directions show to do it without foil. Are they fluffy your way, or still a steamed texture?

      I really didn’t notice any difference between these and the ones baked in the oven. But perhaps I just love potatoes enough that it doesn’t matter–I’m sorry, I’m not much help.
